UK –This article highlights motorcycle theft outside of London and promotes a Motorcycle Theft Awareness Ride taking place this weekend – Sunday 15th April 2018 – in Hull in the East Riding of Yorkshire. London – In a long spree of motorcycle enabled crime on mopeds, motorcycle, scooter and moped thefts have come to a head with the latest reported barbaric acid attacks in London – five attacks in ninety minutes in one night by two teenagers - victims having their mopeds stolen – and 24 hours later a further report of a rider being attacked with a “noxious substance” in an attempt to take the rider’s moped. London - The Metropolitan Police have just launched its 'Be Safe' campaign around preventing theft of scooters and of course motorcycles! The message of the Met's new short, hard-hitting film and advertising campaign, urging riders of scooters, motorcycles and mopeds to use more security to avoid the theft of their vehicles is, "The more visible the security, the less visible your scooter is to thieves: adding extra security makes it harder for them to steal." United Kingdom - Biker & Bike - UK Motorcycle Theft Protest Group - There is a bike theft epidemic happening in the UK’s larger cities that, outside of biking circles, is little known about. United Kingdom – A furious Welsh motorcycling colleague of mine has just telephoned me to say that thieves had stolen 4 rare motorcycles from his almost unique collection of 12 and carried them away would you believe in his recently restored classic Bedford van.
