A Decade To Review

1st January 2017 by Motorcycleminds Leave a Comment

With the first year of the revitalised Motorcycle Minds over, we decided to have a look back though quotes from our past to celebrate that and whatever it is that 2017 might bring. Whether our articles and subsequent quotes matter or are even relevant, doesn’t matter, what matters is that we would like to think that in our own small way, we make a difference. With over nearly a decade on issues, starting from our incarnation as a regional set up called Right To Ride in Northern Ireland, to the European “mainland” as Motorcycle Minds, we have a shedload of comments and … [Read more...]

We Ride London

3rd December 2016 by Motorcycleminds Leave a Comment

England - London - We Ride London - #WeRideLondon - has launched as the lead group to drive fair changes and improvements to the way transport policies from Transport for London and the Mayor’s office treat powered two-wheeled vehicles (motorcycles and scooters). Motorcycles and scooters are being literally squeezed off London’s roads. New daily charges are about to be approved, which will affect thousands of riders. Almost £1billion is budgeted to support bicycle schemes in the capital, but despite motorcycles and scooters also helping to bust congestion and pollution, … [Read more...]

6th August 2016 by Motorcycleminds Leave a Comment

Global - We at Motorcycle Minds can definitely say that we have  never ever been labeled as a distinguished - gentleman - or lady - when riding our motorcycles. However, on the 25th of September 2016, streets worldwide will be abuzz with finely dressed gentlefolk upon their classic and vintage style motorcycles, united in their support of men’s health. ‘The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride’, the world’s greatest motorcycling charity event, shines a light upon the bikes, fashion and ideals of a bygone era, all for a good cause - for prostate cancer research. The … [Read more...]

Trikes & Helmets – To Wear or Not To Wear?

3rd August 2016 by Motorcycleminds 4 Comments

Northern Ireland – This article aims to clarify the situation regarding a proposed helmet law for trike riders in Northern Ireland, following a recent claim by the Motorcycle Action Group (MAG) that this proposal has been dropped thanks to their successful lobbying. In June 2015 the Road Safety and Vehicle Regulation Division of the then Department of the Environment (DOE) [1]  issued a public consultation regarding a – “ Proposal for the Mandatory Wearing of Helmets on Motor Tricycles”, meaning that if the proposal came about the wearing of helmets for riders of and … [Read more...]

FIM – Women In Motorcycling

15th July 2016 by Motorcycleminds Leave a Comment

Never Heard Of Him

2nd April 2016 by Motorcycleminds Leave a Comment

Ryan Reynolds? Never heard of him!  Apparently he's an actor and been in some "tremendous" films. I don't get out much and when I stay in it is apparent I don't watch his films. But it looks like he has experience of riding a motorcycle, as the article on this website lists in the 15 things you didn't know about him: 15 Things You Might Not Know About Ryan Reynolds The first one is that, "When Ryan was on a motorcycle trip, he stopped on the side of the road to relieve himself. When he jumped into the ditch to do his business, he jumped right into a dead horse. "I didn't … [Read more...]
