United Kingdom - A couple of riders we know have posted up pictures on their social media pages, of their motorcycles' rear tyre with a screw/bolt embedded in the tyre. Both riders, one from the UK and one from France, replaced the rear tyre because of the position of the object. Scotland - A series of short films showcasing Scotland’s breath-taking motorcycle routes, has been unveiled as part of a new campaign. The campaign is highlighting the top risk areas for riders, in a bid to help reduce fatalities on Scotland’s roads. Its focus is on Scottish riders and those visitors from beyond Scotland’s borders. London - Following on from our article London – Motorcycles Forever which looked at the consultation to improve London’s air quality from Transport for London (TfL) and introduce a charge for vehicles, including motorcycles, in an Ultra Low Emissions Zone (ULEZ), there has now been published another report on motorcycling in London. 2017 FIM Road Safety Awards
Norway - Europe – NMCU the Norsk Motorcykkel Union has been awarded the 2017 FIM - Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme - Road Safety Award for its “Full Kontroll” book. FIM explains that the Road Safety Award promotes initiatives or technology for improving road traffic safety, particularly for powered two wheelers, with a wish to encourage new solutions to diminish accidents, especially fatal injuries, making motorcycling an even safer passion.
